  • Greetings & Happy Holidays!

Greetings from the Florida ANIA Board!

First of all, thank you to everyone who came to the September Conference in Orlando and made it such a success! We couldn't have done it without all of you! We are looking forward to our next conference Fall 2018. Since the National ANIA conference will be in Orlando in the spring, we will not be having a spring chapter conference. We encourage all of you to attend the National ANIA conference and look forward to seeing you there.

Secondly, we have a favor to ask of you. We want to hear from each of you! What are you interested in? What do you want to learn about? What can we do better for you? Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey. Special offer for the first 10 who fill it out! See the survey for details!

Finally, we want to take the opportunity to wish all of you happy holidays! We are thankful for each of you and are grateful for the opportunity to serve the members of the Florida ANIA Chapter. We look forward to the exciting things to come in the new year! As always, we are open to feedback from our members, so feel free to email us at any time!

CNIO & CMIO: Dyad Leadership in Clinical Informatics

The dyad relationship between the CMIO and the CNIO is a partnership designed to facilitate the organization to meet their strategic vision through Clinical Transformation.  The CNIO & CMIO for HonorHealth are both operational by background and serve as content experts in clinical informatics and serve as liaisons between IT and operations.  It is imperative the CNIO & CMIO develop excellent communication pathways between each other as well as with their customers in both the IT departments and the hospital clinical areas.

This presentation will focus on the relationship and successes of the CMIO & CNIO for a large enterprise-wide EMR go live. A unique opportunity at HonorHealth is that two hospitals were live on one EMR  and 3 were not. HonorHealth built an entirely new instance of the EMR, added modules (most impactful being the lab) and went live on the new version at all campuses on the same day.   The CNIO & CMIO navigated through challenging cultural and standard of care differences relying on leadership, expertise, and relationships to bring this organization live.

    ANIA Arizona members,

Great news! We officially have an ANIA Arizona Chapter now. A big thank you to all who signed the petition to help make this possible and to Kris and Dawn for volunteering as chapter leaders. I truly appreciate the eagerness to create this chapter to collaborate with informatics professionals. The Arizona chapter is full of passionate informaticists, who are devoted to their profession. What a spectacular forum to share ideas, best practice, and provide a professional networking opportunity for our state.

We are excited to announce our first ANIA Arizona Chapter meeting is on Thursday, September 28, 5:00-6:30 pm. We will have a Webex and call-in number, as we have members from across the state. Please find all the details and register via the RSVP button on the Chapter Events section of our new website. Our next meeting will be an educational session in November.

Come prepared to share what you would like to accomplish from this chapter and some ideas for an Arizona Chapter mission statement.
