Hello, my name is Melodie Gordon. I have been a NICU RN for 18 years. I finished my MSN in Informatics last year, 10/2023. I learned a new system, Athena, during my 200 hours of Practicum experience. It was wonderful. I live in Los Angeles, CA , but my Preceptor lived in Atlanta, Georgia and so was the clinic where I did my Practicum. I learned a lot and it was very different because the patient population were adults. The EMR system that I am most familiar with is Epic but I am open to learning. I am have a very difficult time finding a job in Informatics due to lack of experience although I have the MSN.
