About Chapter

Chapter Mission:

To advance nursing informatics through education, research, and practice in all roles and settings.

Chapter Vision:

To inspire and empower our team members to become leaders in the field of nursing informatics.

About the Chapter:

The ANIA Ohio Chapter is a part of the American Nursing Informatics Association (ANIA), consisting of professional nurses and associates who:

  • Are located in the Ohio area
  • Are committed to their specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in nursing and informatics practice
  • Endorse informatics practice as a specialty that is essential to the delivery of high-quality, and cost-effective healthcare
  • Are committed to their professional development and seek to actively engage in a community of like-minded professionals
  • Use informatics to improve the health of populations, communities, families, and individuals by optimizing information management and communication (ANA, 2008*)
  • To meet the needs in Ohio, we host educational and networking events (and even an Annual Conference!)

Our chapter is looking forward to continuing the informatics journey and bringing along those who want to explore, learn, teach, and grow through collaboration and shared experiences.

Member of the Month

Hi, I’m Jake! I am a Nurse Manager/Epic Facility lead at University Hospitals Portage Medical center. I have a passion for Nursing Informatics and love being a part of the ANIA community! I am grateful to be able to use the knowledge and skills I’ve gained to help support my peers in delivering high-quality and efficient care. I received my BSN from Waynesburg University and my MSN in Nursing Informatics from Chamberlain University. I live in Columbiana, OH with my wife Jen and our 2 dogs (Ollie + Izzy). I love spending time outdoors and recently became obsessed with pickleball! I am excited to be a part of this amazing group of nurse leaders with the like-minded goal to advance nursing informatics!“
