He co-authored The Nurse's Guide to Innovation and is the founder of two health tech startups. Brian is a recipient of the Advancement in Medicine Innovation Grant from the IU School of Medicine and remains active in the healthcare startup community, advising and sitting on the boards of emerging tech companies. By the end of this session, participants will be able to: Describe how emerging technologies such as AI-powered ambient documentation and real-time location systems (RTLS) can reduce administrative burden and improve nursing workflow efficiency. Analyze the potential impact of intelligent documentation and equipment tracking solutions on nurse-patient engagement, patient safety, and operational costs. Evaluate strategies for integrating human-centric innovation into acute care environments to address staffing shortages, improve clinical outcomes, and enhance the nurse experience.
