Message from the President
As I look back over the past few years, I am very proud of what we have accomplished as a chapter. From educational events to chapter restructure, we have maintained our focus to keep this organization interdisciplinary, if we look at the different venues of care as different disciplines. As such, we have been able to focus on improving the EHR across the continuum of care for better care for our patients. We have also mentored other chapters as the first state chapter to form directly under the ANIA umbrella. We have provided guidance to other states as they began to bring their informatics nurses together. We have also, in collaboration with HIMSS, advocated to the legislature and helped to have Florida declare HIT days. I look forward to our change in leadership for new vision and energy to continue to grow our chapter for the future. We have grown this chapter from less than 100 members to over 300 members currently and look forward to continued growth. It is a great time to be in informatics! Please be sure to vote in our election so that we can continue to be the chapter that the rest of the Nation looks to for guidance and as a standard to meet or beat!
