My name is Pauline Nueva and I'm having a difficult time looking for a preceptor in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. I've contacted multiple hospitals and majority precept employees only. Others would only precept students who already have a current agreement with specific programs. I only have the practicum left and my counselors suggested I do a a leave of absence to give me more time to look for a preceptor. If anyone has any suggestion or be willing to accept me, I would really appreciate it!

Hi Pauline!  I'm checking to see if my organization has an academic affiliation with Grand Canyon--I think we do but I'm confirming.  I'll let you know what I find out.  Are you able to travel a little bit to complete your practicum?  Tyler in East Texas isn't super super far from Euless.

    Hi Ms.Lasi!

Thank you for the reply! My field counselor said I have to complete 150 hours and only required to do 10 hours a week. Tyler is a bit of a drive, about a 2 hours, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to get my practicum done! I really appreciate your help!

Let me also check with my director here at Baylor Dallas. It would be a shorter drive for you and I know many of our current Informaticists graduated from Grand Canyon.

Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately, my counselor said that Baylor wasn't an option, they only accept preceptorship for employees only.
    I appreciate the help though!
