Looking for a Nursing Informatics Preceptor (Spring 2026 Graduation Track) – Any Leads Appreciated! 💻🩺
Hi Nursing Informatics community! 👋
I hope everyone is doing well. My name is Deanna "Dee" Campbell, BSN, RN, CCM, and I'm currently pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing Informatics at Grand Canyon University, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2026.
I'm reaching out to see if anyone here-either individually or through their organization-might be willing to recommend or refer a qualified nursing informatics professional who could serve as a preceptor. I am seeking immediate placement or placement as soon as possible in order to meet program and graduation timeline requirements.
A little about me: I'm a licensed RN with over 10 years of diverse nursing experience, including care and case management, utilization review, appeals, renal services, leadership, behavioral health navigation, regulatory compliance, and hospital/insurance-based auditing. Through these roles, I've gained a strong appreciation for how clinical care, quality outcomes, policy, and data intersect-which is what ultimately led me to nursing informatics (and yes, I geek out over workflows and data now 😄).
Grand Canyon University's preceptor requirements include:
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Master's degree or higher (MSN preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of informatics experience
- At least 3 months in the current role
- Willingness to mentor a student in a practicum setting
- Preceptor must not be a relative, personal friend, or direct supervisor
I am highly motivated, professional, flexible (virtual or in-person where allowed), and genuinely eager to learn from someone passionate about advancing nursing informatics practice. Immediate placement is requested to stay aligned with academic deadlines, but I am very open to discussing logistics that work best for the preceptor.
If you or someone you know might be open to this-or if you can point me in the right direction-I would be incredibly grateful. I'm happy to share my resume and program documentation upon request.
Thank you so much for your time, support, and any recommendations you're willing to share. This community is amazing, and I truly appreciate it! 💙
