Secretary/Treasurer - Debi Schwartz, BSN, RN, NI-BC

Debi has been a RN since 1991 and in informatics since 2012. The majority of her career was bedside in a 600+ bed hospital as a general Float Nurse. Debi's experience working in units ranging from Gen Med/Surg, Nephrology, Cardiac, ED, Peds, Peds Onc, and PeriOp provided particular insight and drive to participate in patient throughput workgroups - a taste of informatics before she even knew what it was and she was hooked!

Debi moved to informatics as the hospital transitioned then moved into Maintenance & Optimization. For a few years, she supported Care Connect go-lives then moved to another organization where she supported both the host organization and the Care Connect go-lives. She currently provides informatics services at Snoqualmie Valley Hospital [CAH] via ScaledHealth. Providing remote support from Spokane, WA with the occasional visit to the beautiful Cascades near Seattle has been a great middle ground for all the things she loves about Informatics!

Debi is fascinated by what people don't say when describing a challenge: the gaps are where the real source of problems often lie. Collecting & connecting the threads of multiple workflows that need to be seen as a whole to find the solution are like weaving a tapestry.  Like any other crafter or cosplayer or general nerd, she loves to hear & share experiences, and that includes with fellow Informaticists!
