I currently am a Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist for Providence Health and Services. My role in this position has been to help with the regional and system wide deployment of our electronic medical record. Currently our team’s focus includes ongoing training and support as well as involvement with upgrades and optimization. I am a registered nurse. Prior to working in informatics, I worked for twenty out of my thirty-plus years of nursing in labor and delivery. Before that, I worked in long term care as well as medical-surgical acute nursing. I received a Master of Science degree in Nursing Informatics in 2013. I was working as a Clinical Nurse Educator in women’s health at that time but transitioned into informatics when the deployment team was formed.
I am a member of the SoCal chapter of ANIA. I have volunteered on both the Social Media committee and the Education Committee, and have had the opportunity to help coordinate our local chapter events over the last year. My focus in this role would be to carry on the great work already started by the committee. I currently live in Anaheim, California and work in Torrance. My family and I relocated from Oregon to Southern California in 2010, to enjoy the sunshine!
