I am a registered nurse with 12 years of Labor and Delivery experience. As a staff nurse, I discovered informatics through volunteering as a super user. I received my Master's in Nursing - Health Care Informatics from University of Colorado - Denver in 2015. It is an online program that I highly recommend - the instructors were supportive and knowledgeable and the program prepared me to work in the informatics field. I have been working as a Clinical Informatics Specialist for 4 years.
I am certified in Informatics through the ANCC, as well as in Inpatient Obstetrics and Electronic Fetal Monitoring through NCC. I am also certified in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation and Epic Stork.
As a member of ANIA attending my first conference in 2017, I recognized a need for a chapter in my area and was inspired to begin that process. Working with informatics colleagues and mentors, together we were able to create the new NY Tri-State Chapter of ANIA. I served as President Elect from 2017 through 2019. I am currently serving as Chapter President.
