Bio
Sharla Busser is an Informatics Nurse I at UPMC Mercy. Her role at Mercy includes serving
as an instructor for eRecord classes
for new hires, participating in any new implementations or optimizations. She is an advocate for nursing informatics in the hospital. She believes informatics nurses are an essential part of the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes and are champions for patient safety.
Sharla has her
Diploma from Shadyside School of Nursing earned in 2009. She graduated in 2016 with her
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Informatics from Slippery Rock University and will begin studying for her Certification in
Informatics.
Sharla has been working at Mercy since 2019 and brings a wealth of knowledge from her prior experience as an Informatics nurse
at
Allegheny Health
Network.
Sharla has experience in multiple areas of nursing including Pre-op, PACU,
and
Post-op at
Passavant and Cranberry Surgery Center;
med
ical
-surg
ical at Presbyterian and Mercy.
Most recently she worked on 5F, then the MSICU (now ICU 3) and the OR at UPMC Mercy.
