Pedrina Blouin, MSN, RN 

Pedrina has been a nurse since 1998 and her entire nursing career has been with Fransiscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS).  She has held various staff nurse to leadership roles in medical-surgical and perioperative nursing.  Pedrina joined the area of nursing informatics in 2017 and currently leads a team of Epic analysts responsible for EMR workflows in the radiology, cardiology, anesthesia and perioperative services area.

 

Pedrina earned a BSN in Nursing from Northwestern State University followed by an MSN in Health Care Systems Management from Loyola University in 2014.  She currently serves as a Manager of Clinical Information Services for FMOLHS.

Sheralyn Long, MHI, BSN, RN, NI-BC

Sheralyn Long is a Level IV Epic Analyst for Clinical Information Systems and is certified in Stork, Clin Doc, and Inpatient Curriculum. She holds multiple Epic badges including Usability and Regulatory Reporting.  She is board certified in nursing informatics and has worked for FMOLHS for 19 years and in her current position since 2015. She is a Past President for the Baton Rouge District Nurse Association and President elect for the Gulf Cost Chapter of ANIA and a member of the education committee for national ANIA.

Nikki (Lynn) Manuel, RN

Nikki Manuel serves as the ANIA Gulf Coast Chapter treasurer. She has been a member of ANIA since 2016. She has a Master's in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Informatics and is board certified in Nursing Informatics.  She is passionate about using technology to drive efficiencies for healthcare workers.

Charla B. Johnson, DNP, RN, NI-BC, ONC, FNAON

Charla Johnson has over 38 years of experience in the healthcare industry and in nursing with majority of her nursing career aimed at the promotion of musculoskeletal care and the advancement of orthopedic nursing in the region, state, and at the national level trough life-long learning and leadership. Orthopedic program management, utilization review, case management, community outreach, nursing professional development, nursing informatics, and leadership opportunities have been embedded throughout her career. Currently, Charla serves as the director of Clinical Information Systems and Nursing Informatics at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. In this role, she is responsible for nursing and clinical informatics, quality reporting, promoting interoperability of the electronic health record and the systems integration of evidence-based practice and innovation into the documentation paths for clinicians. Charla is board certified in orthopaedic nursing and nursing informatics. She is a Past President on the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses (NAON) Executive Board (2021-22), serves on the Movement is Life Board (501c3) aimed at reducing musculoskeletal health disparities in women, African Americans, and Hispanics. In addition, she serves on the Legislative Committee for AMSN, and is the Corresponding Secretary for Baton Rouge District Nurse Association and is the President Emeritus of the Gulf Coast Chapter of ANIA and is the Education chair for the chapter.

Pepper Ronelle Ginder, MSN, RN, NI-BC, PMH-BC

Pepper is an accomplished nursing professional with extensive experience in various healthcare settings. With a passion for nursing informatics and leadership, Pepper has dedicated her career to improving patient care through innovative practices and continuous learning.

 

Pepper holds a master’s degree in nursing leadership and management and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on Nursing Informatics at the University of South Alabama. Her academic achievements reflect her commitment to excellence and determination.

 

Throughout her career, Pepper has demonstrated exemplary leadership skills as evidenced by her roles as a Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program Nurse Manager and as an Informatics Education Coordinator at Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System. She has managed diverse nursing teams, implemented evidence-based practices, and spearheaded various initiatives to enhance patient care.

 

Pepper is actively involved in professional affiliations such as the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International. She is also a dedicated advocate for diversity, inclusion, and equity in healthcare.

 

Outside of her professional roles, Pepper is passionate about mentoring nursing professionals and contributing to nursing research for innovation in patient care. She is also skilled in multimedia design, utilizing tools like SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Adobe Express to create impactful educational materials and videos for healthcare initiatives such as her Nurses’ Week video presentations from 2022, 2023 and 2024.

 

Pepper's expertise, leadership, and dedication to advancing nursing practice make her an asset to any healthcare organization. She continues to strive for excellence in her field, seeking opportunities for growth and making a lasting impact on patient care and nursing education.
