  • CI Conference 11/14 - 11/15: Seeking Abstracts!

We are starting the process of collecting abstracts for Presentations and Posters for our 2019 Clinical Informatics Conference.  Our event will be November 14 - 15th this year at the Ruth Jackson Center.

The focus for the 8th annual Clinical Informatics Conference is building a strong foundation for improving technology adoption and clinical outcomes.

We want to hear how you have:

Used technology to improve clinical and financial performance
Collaborated to prioritize information technology and resources
Used data management systems to support decision making
Demonstrated skills in data integrity and quality assessments
Provided leadership for implementation/adoption of information systems

We are offering two break out tracks along with our general informatics track this year. There is a new Leadership Track to support leaders in advancing clinical informatics strategies for both operational and financial goals. And, back by popular demand, the Educational Track is available for nurse educators and healthcare education professionals to support their practice. The General track is meant for the broad spectrum of clinical informatics professionals.

Please share your wins, accomplishments, and learning opportunities by SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT for the November 2019 conference or by SUBMITTING A POSTER PRESENTATION. Submissions are due by August 31, 2019.

**Please consider forwarding this to your Leaders and Educators as we will be opening up presentation slots for our colleagues outside of Clinical Informatics this year.

    Thank you in advance!

  • We did IT! Update for Texas HIT Day - January 17th

Several of your DFW Area colleagues were able to attend Texas HIT Day at the Capitol yesterday.  We would all agree it was a great success.  We had the chance to meet with over 50 Senators and Representatives (and/or their office staff) to discuss the need for support for Telehealth, Interoperability, and the Opioid Crisis (specifically PDMP).

We know we were heard by many of our legislators as we had great attendance at the afternoon forum where national and state updates were provided, and a panel spoke to the opioid crisis.  We all left much more informed and invigorated to fight for Health IT and had a great time meeting other Health IT professionals from the Texas area.

If you missed it, be sure to join us in 2 years for the next session!!
