Dawn Collison is a Clinical Informatics - Independent Consultant currently working with Elsevier, Inc. in their InOrder product division. Her responsibilities include development, updates, standardization and optimization of clinical provider order sets and research pages across all disciplines of clinical practice, as well as across the care continuum. Dawn’s clinical background includes 20 years of practice in Intensive Care and Emergency Departments. Her last 10 years have been focused on Health IT roles, which includes account management, implementation project management, and independent consulting. She obtained a diploma in nursing from the Milwaukee County Medical Complex – School of Nursing and her Masters of Science in Nursing, specializing in Nursing Informatics from Walden University. She maintains the American Nurses Credentialing Center board certification for Informatics Nursing (RN-BC), as well as Certified Professional in Healthcare Management Systems (CPHIMS). Dawn’s passion is evidence-based practice and using clinical decision support in strategic ways to measurably improve healthcare.
