I am a board certified registered nurse with a background in critical care that has been working in the informatics field for four years in an acute care setting. I recently accepted a position as an Epic Clinical Documentation Analyst and I am working on my Epic inpatient clinical documentation certification. My clinical background includes working in step-down units, cardiac cath lab recovery, ICU, CCU, ED, and Observation unit. The floating experience strengthened my understanding of the different workflows and increased my networking. These skills facilitated my transition into the Clinical Informatics Specialist role. In the informatics role I explored EHR build, optimization, maintenance and support. As a member of the informatics team, the nursing orientation program was restructured and informatics competency included in the training. I developed training sessions and materials. In addition, I provided technical and application support for Meditech Database Management System. Additional responsibilities included the management and support of the implementation of new projects in the organization such as Teletracking, Zynx evidence-based care plans and order sets. As a nurse in a Magnet organization, I was a member of the shared governance nurse experience council. As a member of ANIA, I saw the need for a chapter in the NY Tristate region and with a team of dedicated informatics professional have taken the steps to create the NY Tristate Chapter. In my spare time I love Crossfit, fishing, reading, Netflix, and the beach.
