Leveraging the Electronic Health Record to Enhance Care of Depression

This session will review process improvements, data to support changes, and standardization of tools across the care continuum to increase efficiency and improve outcomes in the care of patients with depression.

 

Kailee Kofal is the Ambulatory Quality Director at Essentia Health.  Kailee has been involved with ongoing Primary Care Redesign and quality improvement initiatives for the organization.  She is a trained EPS Process Expert, an evidence-based management strategy with an internationally proven method for driving improved performance developed by top leadership at Essentia Health.  

Julie Newman is a Healthcare Leader with nursing background who works collaboratively across the organization to establish standard clinical practice to support high quality care and improve the patient experience. Focused on leveraging technology and innovation to drive continuous improvement and decrease cost of care.

Susan Jedlicka-Burns has been at Essentia since 2010, working for 8 years as a Principal Trainer/Sr Application Analyst with the Willow Pharmacy module.   Three years ago, she joined the Healthy Planet team, working with primary care, cardiology, and pharmacy for their registry and reporting needs that drive our quality care workflows.

Lisa Wilkinson has been a nurse at Essentia Health since 1999.  Her clinical background is in primary care clinic.  In her current role as nurse informaticist her main areas of responsibility are primary care and emergency departments to help develop and optimize workflows that support quality patient care.

  1. Describe how audience-specific reporting can generate workflow efficiency
  2. Explain the benefits of standardization of tools and workflows
  3. Recognize opportunities to leverage technology to automate processes in your practice
  4. Understand the need to continue process improvement

 

Pre-registration, email, session attendance, and survey completion are required for CE credit. CE is offered in conjunction with Indiana University Health and provisioned by the Ohio Nurses Association. The Ohio Nurses Association will award contact hours in adherence with ANCC criteria.
