    SUMMARY

    We are searching for a Clinical Informatics Specialist II – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will produce the optimal design, development, evaluation, and support for clinical technology solutions that are utilized by care providers, ensuring that systems are consistent with professional standards of practice. You will integrate nursing, computer, and information science to manage and communicate data into clinical practice improvements.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinate the evaluation, selection, planning, development, and implementation of clinical systems
    • Establish the need for new systems or updates to enhance clinical practice and develop specifications that will support the design and implementation across the organization
    • Assess, analyze, and translate clinical needs into the development of appropriate clinical systems
    • Analyze the impact and overall functioning of applications on patient care and clinical staff using process improvement methodology, workflow/process redesign, and project management
    • Minimize work flow changes during system transitions
    • Collaborate and communicate between multiple departments, including partnering with training teams to identify and resolve education gaps and provide ongoing support
    • Serve as a resource for clinical staff regarding clinical information systems
    • Clarify needs, prioritize requests, and recommend technology design with clinicians, leaders, etc
    • Act as a liaison between clinicians and Information Services and work to update clinical information systems, troubleshoot problems, and coordinate events
    • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and improve efficiencies
    • Design and execute reports with appropriate and up-to-date technical information for distribution among various departments
    • Conduct shadow charting and job shadowing to determine clinical system effectiveness
    • Participate in EMR Councils for the purpose of integrating clinical systems, workflow analysis, and optimization/standardization
    • Organize performance improvement, quality, and patient safety initiatives
    • Formulate reports for the trending, tracking, and analysis of clinical systems data
    • Develop and maintain tools that provide optimal user efficiency
    • Work with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to execute clinical technology projects within defined parameters and deadlines
    • Act as project team member and possible lead role in project initiatives
    • Implement auditing and reviewing processes for the definition, collection, and examination of metrics that relate to project goals

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, healthcare administration, nursing, or other related field
    • License as an RN, NP, PNP-BC, NNP, FNP, RCP, OT, PT, or RPH is compulsory
    • Certification in Informatics
    • EPIC certification is preferred
    • Knowledge of current clinical practices and computing systems, interfaces, and current standard software is necessary
