Dear ANIA Leadership/Community,
My name is Dustan Jesko, RN, and I am currently enrolled in the MSN Nursing Informatics program at Capella University. I am reaching out to inquire whether ANIA has any resources, networking opportunities, or points of contact that could assist me in identifying a preceptor and practicum site so that I can complete my required 500 practicum hours in nursing informatics. I have previously reached out but have not received any meaningful guidance. Because I do not work for a hospital system, most responses I have received state that they cannot precept any non‑employees. I work for an occupational health company, and we do not have anyone in‑house who meets the requirements to serve as a preceptor. I have also asked for guidance on whom within a facility I should contact to explore whether precepting is possible, but I have not received a clear answer-at a minimum, could someone please tell me what department I need to speak with?
