Our friends at the ANIA - Midwest Chapter are hosting a webinar!Join us on February 10th, 2023 at 11:00 am Central/noon Eastern for an educational webinar "An Institutional Journey Towards "Near-Real-Time" Risk-Adjusted Quality Performance Measurement" presented by Benjamin Pollock, PhD, MSPH, Assistant Professor of Health Services Research, Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Endowed Scientific Director for the Science of Quality Measurement, Mayo Clinic.  

Hospital quality reporting from stakeholders such as US News & World Report (USNWR), CMS, and Leapfrog typically lags two to five years.  As a result, hospital quality improvement efforts are hampered by an inability to prioritize resources toward the most pressing quality outcomes of the present day.  This session will describe one enterprise academic medical center's journey to develop a "near-real-time" quality data platform.  

Learning Objectives include:
1.  Learn the basics of risk adjustment for outcomes such as 30-day mortality
2.  Distinguish between observed, expected and O/E outcomes ratios
3.  Learn how the EHR can be used to provide "near-real-time" quality measurement
4.  Understand what resources and skills would be needed for similar work at their institutions

Pre-registration, email, session attendance, and survey completion are required for Nursing Professional Development Continuing Education credit. Credit is offered in conjunction with Indiana University Health and provisioned by the Maryland Nurses Association.  The Maryland Nurses Association will award contact hours in adherence with ANCC criteria.
