Class Description

Capsule, a Qualcomm Life company and premier medical device information system, is sponsoring an education presentation, Converging Technology at the Bedside: Impact of Medical Device Data on Clinical Workflow, to share the importance of medical device technology on patient care. This presentation focuses on the following objectives:

  • Defining medical devices - Definition of a medical device and FDA classification of medical devices
  • Discuss how medical devices assist with data collection- Types of medical device data, where medical device data is used today, and impact of medical device data on patient care
  • Describe Joint Commissions’ 2017/2018 National Patient Safety Goals- How medical devices are impacted and ways medical device data can assist with NPSG recommendations

Our presenter, Cyndi Coyne, RN is an experienced thought leader in healthcare information technology, and provides a dynamic perspective on medical device information and its impact on clinical workflow today.
