My name is Kimberly Carroll, I have just completed my MSN with informatics focus and will be graduating July 20, 2019. I am currently gathering study materials to complete the certification exam by the end of the year. I would love to have some guidance from the informatics community as to the best steps to take to obtain a role in informatics. The focus of the program that I completed was Informatics Nurse Specialist, and what I am looking for is as a new grad should I look for analyst roles to increase knowledge base, begin searching at specialist roles? I have been a Registered Nurse for 16 years, bedside mainly, and entry into this field would be consistent with really being a brand new nurse.
I am grateful and appreciative for any guidance or suggestions from this knowledgeable pool of informatics experts.
