We have a wonderful opportunity to partner with Community Crossroads to help collect food to fill Thanksgiving baskets for families in need. They will also be contributing a turkey for all the baskets. I have attached a list of the foods that they will need to fill the baskets. If you want to help contribute, I will be picking up any donated items at NRH2O on Sunday, November 13th from 2 pm to 3 pm. This is a fantastic way to help so many families that would otherwise not be able to have a Thanksgiving meal. Please consider collecting at your office or from friends and bring your donations on the 13th so I can get them to Community Crossroads for distribution the next week.
Also, if you do not have plans for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, November 23rd; they are looking for people to assist in serving a Thanksgiving meal to the homeless in the area that they serve. If you are interested in doing this, you will need to be at Community Crossroads by 6 pm and serve until around 7 pm. They are extremely excited that this is the first year that they will be offering this service and want to make sure it is successful so they can continue to offer it in the future.
