Position Summary:
IT Training Coordinator provides educational support for the installation and maintenance of a clinical IT system within the Jackson Health System. Responsible for management, oversight, and development of the training department and workflow integration and provide support to JHS Clinical and Business systems. Provide management for our comprehensive training program supporting clinical and business informatics. The training program encompasses employee education on system functionality, operational work flow and policies and procedures required to utilize the Business and Clinical Systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Masterminds a comprehensive plan to assess computer skills, provide for adequate and appropriate classes, and maintain the level of proficiency needed to use the clinical system effectively. Analyzes data collected and training records, evaluates results, draws conclusions and makes recommendations for changes/improvements, and monitors the status of issue resolution. Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills through the development and maintenance of productive working relationships with medical staff, nursing, ancillary department personnel, administrative personnel and peers. Coordinates training programs designed for implementations, upgrade and enhancements to prepare appropriate staff to use the system per institutional schedule. Maintains accurate logs, statistics and/or files regarding work activity, completing them as scheduled. Collaborates with medical, clinical and IT staff relative to initiating, conducting and evaluating the project. Teaches classes as needed for all levels of clinical staff. Assist with build, maintenance and testing of Clinical Information Systems as required. Development, management and maintenance of all training environments, work on various IT developmental programs using a systematic approach to workflow integration and ensuring best practices are followed. Attends designated committees, project planning and work group meetings and actively participates as required. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Experience:
Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Education, Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Instructional Design, or related field preferred.
License Certification:
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
Knowledge Skill Abilities:
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Skill in monitoring/assessing the performance to make improvements or take corrective action. Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs. Ability to establish goals and objectives. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Knowledge of structured change management preferred. Ability to manage and supervise staff required. Position requires exercise of independent judgment.
Physical Demands:
Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
