The ANIA Education Director, Christy Jo St. John, MSN, RN-BC, will present
Trends in Nursing Informatics via webinar.
Christy has experienced a diverse informatics career in the inpatient and outpatient arenas over the last decade. She has held informatics roles from analyst to executive leadership, allowing for well-rounded understanding of day-to-day practice, trends, and how accurate data can influence decisions at all levels of health care. She currently serves as Lead Analytics and Improvement Manager for Vizient, Inc. Prior, she was CNIO for Virginia Commonwealth University Health and Associate CNIO for Bon Secours Health System, Inc. She also serves as a mentor for Thomas Edison State University, teaching nursing informatics courses. Her clinical background includes medical-surgical, critical care, and cardiopulmonary stepdown.
Christy received her MSN from Walden University, with a concentration in Nursing Informatics. She is an ANCC Certified Informatics Nurse. She has published and presented locally and nationally on a number of informatics topics including implementation best practices, optimization, content management, usability, and meaningful use of data at the bedside.
In addition to serving on the ANIA Board, Christy also has served as an advisor for VA HIMSS Informatics Special Interest Group, and as a community advisor for local non-profits. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, HIMSS, and the American Nurses Association.
