CNIO & CMIO: Dyad Leadership in Clinical Informatics
The dyad relationship between the CMIO and the CNIO is a partnership designed to facilitate the organization to meet their strategic vision through Clinical Transformation. The CNIO & CMIO for HonorHealth are both operational by background and serve as content experts in clinical informatics and serve as liaisons between IT and operations. It is imperative the CNIO & CMIO develop excellent communication pathways between each other as well as with their customers in both the IT departments and the hospital clinical areas.
This presentation will focus on the relationship and successes of the CMIO & CNIO for a large enterprise-wide EMR go live. A unique opportunity at HonorHealth is that two hospitals were live on one EMR and 3 were not. HonorHealth built an entirely new instance of the EMR, added modules (most impactful being the lab) and went live on the new version at all campuses on the same day. The CNIO & CMIO navigated through challenging cultural and standard of care differences relying on leadership, expertise, and relationships to bring this organization live.
